About Us The World Legion of Power is a certification and sponsorship organization for gyms and weight lifting facilities of all sizes throughout the nation and world. Our goal is to recognize, award and promote gyms, sporting facilities and athletes. WLOP sponsors competitions in power lifting, bodybuilding, martial arts, boxing and other sporting events.

Our Philosophy

The motto of the World Legion of Power is “strength, health, and wisdom; the quest for true greatness”. Strength is part of being a power lifter, boxer, martial artist, body builder, football player, etc. "Street Strength", how strong a person is on the streets. This is why we are "Raw and Drug Free". All athletes require strength. All people need it as they also need health. Health is a prerequisite to succeed and achieve in all areas of life, whether it be sports, business, or family life. Wisdom might seem an unusual part of the motto. But we believe that athletic excellence should add to a deeper understanding of life as well as life adding to a deeper understanding of our sports.
The quest for greatness is evident and yet there is a non-obvious quality as well. We aspire to greatness in our athletic accomplishments and that is an end in itself. But there is another aspect. One that is not assured in any official competition. We value the athlete who is a decent human being, an athlete who can lift a mountain of resentment through his/her power of forgiveness, an athlete who shows greatness in all areas: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual. We of the WLOP – salute such athletes.

Certification

Certification for each individual gym/weight lifting facilities will be based on the following:

• Cleanliness
• Friendliness
• Competence

An Inspector from WLOP will visit your facility and after thorough consideration by the executive members will decide if your facility will be officially recognized by WLOP as a fully accredited gym. Those facilities that pass will receive an official award of certification and then will be listed and promoted on our web site. Your facility will then be able to hold and benefit from our sporting competitions, thus potently increase your overall gym membership.
